About Me

I am a Teaching Associate Professor of English at Marquette University where I teach courses on film, literature, and cultural studies. My research focuses on performance studies, labor studies, and cultural studies of the United States.

And I have been a happy advocate and mentor for faculty on campus for years; I have been a Faculty Fellow at our Center For Teaching and Learning, a research fellow for the Institute for Women’s Leadership, and have been profiled by our university.

In 2023, I published All Play and No Work: American Work Ideals and the Comic Plays of the Federal Theatre Project with Temple University Press.

My current research project is examining ice shows in the United States such as the Ice Follies, Ice Capades, and Holidays on Ice. And I will soon have a chapter published on the representation of unions in professional wrestling.

I have also written for outlets like Howlround and appeared on a number of podcasts, ranging from history-centric ones about my work on the theater of the New Deal to movie discussions to professional wrestling podcasts.
